JANUARY 2009 - GLENVIEW HILLS NEWS
Upon official certification by the Board of Elections, the following residents were sworn in by Mayor Fred Simon on December 20, 2008, to serve as Commissioners for Glenview Hills for the next four years:
Virginia Schulte – Landscaping
Jason Dusch – Streets, Utilities (lights) and Signs
Robert McGonnell – Security and Community Relations
Deborah Bates-Fulks – City Contracts (Insurance and Sanitation)
City Treasurer Bill Galloway reports that all taxes assessed upon real estate for the current year have been paid by residents. Property owners are reminded that Glenview Hills receives a portion of its annual revenues from taxes assessed on premiums paid for title insurance, life insurance, casualty and liability insurance on home, car, marine and other risks and perils. The tax is five percent (5%) and amounts to approximately $16,000.00 per year. Please check your vehicle license renewal form and your insurance premium invoices to make sure that the taxing authority is correctly identified as Glenview Hills (rather than Glenview or the City of Louisville) and insure that the City will receive these revenues.
